Help us lay our mom to rest
Donation protected
My name is Adriana, I am the oldest of Michelle’s 6 children. I’m creating this page in lieu of all of us kids.
Our mom became unexpectedly ill on October 28, ending up on life support for 4 days. After two weeks in the hospital, she was being discharged but was feeling worse and worse, so we took her directly to another facility for another opinion. Hopeful another place would listen to her, she got right into the car to go straight by there. Unfortunately, we couldn’t even make the drive there before she needed an ambulance on the side of the road. They took her the rest of the way to Colombia and she was admitted through the ER. After another 3 weeks, mom was told there was nothing more the doctors could do. Her heart was failing. She could live her final days out in the ICU where they could keep her stable or she could choose to come home on hospice and treat the symptoms as her heart beat it’s last beats.
She had already been fighting for almost 6 weeks, and now…the fight was at its end.
She choose to come home and after 4 days on hospice, she passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her daughters and family.
All this time, we were under the impression mom had life insurance. She signed up for life insurance on the last day she worked, not knowing she would go into the hospital the very next day. Unfortunately, during this time, her company has been bought by another company and since she has never been able to go in and work a day for the new company, she is not going to be able to get that life insurance she just enlisted for.
It is hard for us to ask for help, but giving our mom a proper service, taking her ashes home with us, and knowing we didn’t have to borrow or go into debt to make it happen would give all of us a peace of mind.
we are trying to raise less than half of what her life insurance policy was, but at this point…we just want to raise enough to not worry about laying her to rest.
We appreciate all the support we have already been shown, and we appreciate each and every one of you who has reached out and/or helped us in one way or another.
If you can help in this way, every bit helps and adds up!
Thank you.
