Jamie and Taysha are no strangers to a battle.
They have had their fair share of hard times and obstacles as well as wonderful moments and adventures throughout their life together.
Unfortunately they have had bad news time after time already in 2019.
It starts when Jamie recently was given the news he had a melanoma on his lip and the treatment was major oral surgery, removing a large section of lip and surrounding tissues. Radiation was still needed and as a result the removal of 10 teeth was added to the treatment plan. They were surgically removed and recovery was not fun. He soldiered on with the support of his amazing family, in particular his wife Taysha.
In a Valentines Post he spoke these words of her ….
The amazing woman she is knows nothing but to love and support us even during the hard times. She has managed to look after me, organise all my appointments, keep people updated, keep me positive and in good spirits and ensure I am always comfortable, all while still doing the daily tasks that come with running a household of 4 kids and making sure we are all fine and happy. She is supermum/superwife. She does so so much and I know I would fail if I was in her shoes. Being home these few weeks have made me realise how incredible she really is. But no matter how run off her feet she is, she does it all with a smile on her face and love in her heart. When she loves, she loves fierce and there isn't anything she wouldn't do for you. She is my rock and I know I would not have been able to cope without her. I really am the luckiest man in the world to have her.
To all who know her agree this is not short of the truth - and so to hear there was bad news again for this family was devastating.
March 27th their youngest son Hudson, aged 17 months was admitted to hospital after being unable to walk and weight bare at all. Ultrasounds & x-rays were inclusive so the wait for an MRI was a long one given all the possibilities of a terrible diagnosis.
The MRI gave them a result and although not what they wanted to hear, an urgent plan of action was put into place for Huddy's care. He and Taysha were flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Townsville to receive brain surgery from the neuro team on a blockage in the narrow draining tube in his brain. Surgery was done that very day and the outcome is that Huddy will have to learn to walk again and be monitored by the neuro team for the remainder of his life.
Jamie and Taysha are a family of 6 - and although there is plenty of love to give, they need loving messages and support as they go on in these health battles.
Jamie will commence 30 rounds of radiation and await the outcome whilst Huddy will begin learning to walk all over. He has hydrocephalus - a blockage in the narrow draining tube of the brain resulting in hydrocephalus. It is the result/flow on effect of the grade 3 brain bleed he had at birth.... which after a long time waiting to fall pregnant, further complications and his birth, he already is a miracle baby with a smile that brings sunshine into the lives of his family.
If you can send messages of support or even help with a donation towards financial support it would be most appreciated - and the Pye family would be forever grateful.
