Pyro's Wings Foundation

Tax deductible
On December 1, 2014 the world lost a hero, a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend to all who crossed his path.
Captain William H. “Pyro” DuBois Jr.

We honor Will's sacrifice each year by awarding a very deserving  CU Det, 105 AFROTC Cadet a full Scholarship to obtain his/her private pilots license prior to them receiving their duty assignment.
This consists of up to $11,200 in flight training and additional supplies of up to $800. This brings the total scholarship award to $12,000.
On the selection committee are 6 active or former duty Fighter pilots and 6 of Will's family and close friends.

This is a very serious and difficult scholarship. We select the best of the best of todays fine young men and women.
So far we have been very successful in that of the 4 selected individuals 3 have received the coveted "pilot slot" in the USAF and the 4th is obtaining his PPL in anticipation of applying for his pilot slot this fall.

Each year we fund this thru a series of  family runs and by individual donations.
The CU Pyro's Run thru the Boulder CU Campus in the spring
Pyro's Run on the flat tops Mountains near Wills home each August
and Pyro's Medaris Madness Run in New Castle each Fall
