Kathy’s Road To Recovery

Hi everybody -- this is my Aunt Kathy... an absolute saint, who puts everybody else before herself. She was recently involved in a horrific car crash while driving across the state to visit family. As she neared a highway construction zone and her car came to a stop, she was rear-ended by a semi truck behind her that failed to slow down. Her car was crushed from behind by the semi and thrown into the highway median, and her body was badly injured in the process. Her hospital tests and scans revealed more extensive injuries than what they initially suspected at the scene of the crash. She has several fractures throughout her body (multiple ribs on both sides, sternum, spine, shoulder, pelvis etc) with some internal pelvic bleeding that they're monitoring closely, and is currently in the ICU. There may be surgery upcoming for her shoulder, and they are still working to help manage her pain.

The fact that she even survived this catastrophic event, is an incredible blessing. But the road ahead of physical (and mental/emotional) healing for her and her family will be long and difficult, and they could really use some help. Given the loss of work-related income that will impact her family in these coming months, she and her husband may face financial uncertainty as they navigate all of the medical care expenses waiting in the months and years ahead -- physical and occupational therapies, home mobility/medical equipment, hospitalization fees/balances, and other rehab expenses not covered by insurance. Your compassion and generosity will not only ease their financial burden, but also serve as a ray of hope and love during this challenging journey.
