Kris Miller's Fight

Kris Miller is our dear friend and neighbor. Kris is 45 years old and a devoted wife and mother. Kris and her husband Mike have 3 wonderful children, Sarah 19, Zach 15 and Josh 13.
On June 30th, 2010, Kris had a scheduled hysterectomy surgery planned but was surprised to come out with an Ovarian Cancer diagnosis. Since that time, Kris has been a ROCK in fighting this cancer! She has endured surgeries, chemo, and more pokes, procedures and intrusions than anyone should! She has always maintained an uplifting, courageous attitude. I defy you to find ANYONE who has fought a better battle against cancer than Kris.
However, last month, the doctor told Kris that her options have been exhausted. She has fought a good battle, but her cancer is now terminal. Kris is now at home. There will be no more visits to emergency rooms or chemo clinics. If you follow Kris on Caring Bridge, http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/krismiller , you know that she has booked a trip to Maine in October for the honeymoon they never took. They had to use that money for a new car and weren’t able to go. Since then, they had talked about going but something always prevented it. Now, as Kris says "it's time to stop saying 'someday' and just do it." So they are.
Unfortunately, they again, need a new car. Mike works 12 hour shifts as a Dispatch for the St. Paul Police Dept. With Mike’s long hours, Kris (and soon Zach) needs a car for band practice, groceries, emergencies, etc. They also need a reliable car for Sarah for making trips back and forth from college, which is over a two hour drive.
So, what can we do to help?
1. Pray! For strength and peace over her and her family as they travel this difficult journey.
2. Donate! It is my hope that this campaign will help relieve some of the financial burden that Kris and her family are facing. Every donation helps, no matter what amount, it all adds up!
3. Share! On social media, with friends, and family. My hope is that through this, awareness is also raised for Ovarian Cancer.
Kris is an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many and has always been there for everyone in her life. Now it's our turn to help her and her family during this challenging road they face. I want to raise enough money for Kris and her husband, Mike to focus on their family.
