Nikki needs a super hero!
I am Cali, one of the many friends of Nikki Tri Couffer. Nikki needs our help to get her super hero!
Why does she need a super hero you ask? Well, let me tell you. Nikki suffers from a laundry list of ailments that have ultimately led to her being forced into medical retirement. On the tip of the iceberg are Scleroderma, Fibromyalgia, Small Fiber Neuropathy, Depression, Anxiety, & PTSD.
To help her navigate through life and retain some independence, Nikki needs a service dog. The extensive training that this pup will go through is very expensive but necessary so that he will be of the utmost benefit to Nikki. The puppy has already been chosen and has passed all of the preliminary assessments to be accepted into the training program at PAWS.
Here is a list of a few of the things the puppy will be trained for:
Detect oncoming muscle spasms, prompt her to take meds when she is having an anxiety attack, getting clothes out of the dryer, help her get dressed/undressed, opening the fridge, picking things up off the floor, opening & closing doors, fetching needed items such as a cell phone, waking her when she is having a nightmare, turn lights on/off, he will be trained to “keep a bubble” around her when in public, he will wear a vest that will carry medications, and of course he will provide great comfort.
Nikki has poured her heart into helping others over the years as a vet tech, instructor, working with service dogs, volunteering at zoos, urban search & rescue FEMA Task Force 1, Homeland Security and many other agencies. She deserves to have a Super Hero Dog!
Please help. Thank you.
