Q First - Centering the Q Experience

Hey!
We are the Queen's Collective, and we are seeking to build a sustainable Queer working artist coooperative that builds off of the work of the staff of The Queen's Head PDX. We plan to
- Provide diverse, Queer led alternative economic and cultural hub for the PNW to foster and cultivate creators, thought leaders, producers and Queer individuals--A place to immerse yourself in centering the Queer experience and it's many intersections
- Highlighting POC, Femmes, Trans and Nonbinary People, Immigrants, Working Class, the Elderly, Youth, Disabled, and all other valuable points of diversity in our community
- Be culture keepers for the community
- Protect and showcase history and culture so far
- Push for the evolution of Queer culture in the present and future
- Showcase local Queer Culture in an open salon type environment
- Foster and facilitate cross connectivity with other regional and coastal Queer hubs and art spaces
- Cultivate a provocative Art & Event Space with Educational and Arts programming
- Provide Queer job skills training with context based in historical materialism & interest in roots up management style
- Do Anti-Gentrification Action for the historically Queer neighborhood of Portland with Working Class Management
- Support for human centered work culture shifts
- Support for equitable political engagement
- Direct Mutual Aid
- The importance of a space to simply exist in-rest as radicalism, espescially a post-covid world
To do this, we need support for our Workers, the ability to facilitate a transition of assets and operations to the collective in a smooth enough way to protect the hours of work and passion we put into this project, which is and ALWAYS has been MORE THAN JUST A QUEER BAR.
The funds will go to buying ourselves more time, and setting up the nonprofit, while also paying the Workers who currently stand to lose their jobs and cultural hub with less than a week's turnaround.
Please donate (direct mutual aid links available on our socials for faster donations collection).
