Rachael’s Recovery

On Tuesday, June 13th, while feeding horses, three large hay bales fell on Rachael, knocking her face into the back of a golf cart and nearly smothering her.

She managed to crawl her way out and help came almost instantly.

She was taken to Research Hospital and into surgery that night.

She suffered lacerations to her eyelid and face, her nose was crushed and she lost all her upper teeth, except for the back two molars, including a large portion of her upper maxilla and damaging her lower teeth.

She will be unable to work for at least 8 weeks as she undergoes several more procedures and more surgeries down the road as swelling decreases.

We ask for help for her and her kids for daily expenses, like groceries and bills and any unexpected expenses as we care for her around the clock and she is seen by multiple specialists every week for the next few months.

Rachael is on a liquid/soft foods diet until her palette/mouth is healed.

Despite the heavy emotional and mental toll this has taken on Rachael and her family, she maintains a great sense of humor and appreciates everyone’s support, prayers and love.
