My name is Nichole Goluskin, and I also perform comedy music under the stage name of Nikki Lynn Katt. About a year and a half ago, I started to disappear from Facebook and Twitter, and then from my friends and family, and then eventually from the rest of the world. A lot of people have reached out to me over the last year and a half asking what has happened to me and where I've been. Up until now, I have been silent. The short version is that my boss at Paramount Pictures was embezzling money from the health care and pension funds of entertainment industry labor unions, and I had to stand up for my friends' health care and ended up becoming a whistleblower. I was subsequently terminated and have been in a whistleblower retaliation and wrongful termination case through the Department of Labor all this time. That is where I’ve been for the last year and a half. I have to see my Paramount case all the way through until justice is served, but it's left me financially devastated.
If you’re not a fan of studio execs stealing money from the pension and health care funds of the artists and workers who make the films and television that pay their million dollar a year salaries, maybe you could help me out as I fight against this. There is no financial relief for the whistleblower while he or she fights for what is good and right. People don't really want to hire a whistleblower, especially not in the entertainment industry. I've been afraid for a year that I wouldn't be able to find enough resources to get by during this time, and now that point has finally come.
