Holly's Journey

In April 2020 Holly unexpectedly underwent a hysterectomy as a CT scan revealed a large mass in her uterus. A post-op biopsy determined that mass was leiomyosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer. The tumor was successfully removed during the hysterectomy and it was hoped that it would not return. In early December a follow up CT scan showed two spots on her right lung. In February a PET scan showed the two spots had grown and there were two new ones on her lungs confirming that the cancer had indeed metastasized. Shortly after that she began an aggressive chemotherapy regime which has her feeling quite ill these days.

With COVID-19 and her compromised immune system, she made the difficult decision to put her real estate license on medical leave. Holly is still a part of the Victoria Property Specialists Group team and the RE/MAX Camosun family. It has taken some time for her to wrap her head around this and it is with the support of her team and the RE/MAX Camosun brokerage that she is finally able to share this news with everyone.

The prognosis isn't great; a year and a half. Holly is determined to get through this  and do so while enjoying as much as she can while she can. Her intent is to return to work as soon as possible. She worked very hard to become a Real Estate Agent and looks forward to getting back out there soon.
