Hope for Rose

Hello everyone, we are Melissa and Gaby and we created this fundraiser for Gaby's dog, Rose. On May 28th, Rose escaped from the backyard of a neighbor's house into my best friend's backyard. Those disgusting individuals were using her for breeding and kept her in a kennel outside in the yard along with the litter she'd be forced to have. Rose was found emaciated, dehydrated, and with bleeding lesions all over her body. She was also having a lot of discharge coming from her eyes, had congestion in her lungs, and was missing a lot of her fur. Since then her fur has been slowly growing back, she has gained some weight, and she has not had any new open sores or bloody lesions. She has had new skin complications, but our vet believes that those new hives might be due to allergies or dermatitis. Further testing is required so we can rule things out and help make her more comfortable. She is also choking while she eats and struggles hard to breathe with each breath. Frenchies suffer from respiratory complications but she suffers from nasal stenosis and an enlarged palate.
After everything she has been through today the vet diagnosed her with a tumor growing on her paw affecting her fourth phalange. The course of treatment will be to amputate that entire digit. She also recommended meeting with a hematologist specialist, but we are holding off on doing that due to funds. We have been trying so hard to provide all of the medical care ourselves, but today when they spoke about surgery we made the decision that it may be time to ask for some help. We want to provide her with the best medical care without having to space out vet visits or medical treatment due to a lack of funds. The amount that we are asking for may not be entirely enough because we are still purchasing medications out of pocket, trying different brands of food for her allergies, and we'd like to have her tested for allergens. Additionally, Rose was diagnosed with Demodex mites and worms. We were already taking her to the vet for bi-weekly injections to treat the worms and mites. During today's visit, the vet provided us with some anti-inflammatory ointment and another round of antibiotics, but this is only to keep Rose comfortable until her next visit in two weeks when she will decide on the next course of action regarding the mass. The office quoted us $400 for the amputation/mass removal and the allergy test is $380. We also pay $30 every two weeks when we take Rose in for her injections. This is not taking into account the additional medications, injections, and consultation feeds. The secondary step after the mass removal will be to get surgical intervention for her breathing. Our vet made the suggestion today because she said that Rose may benefit from a soft palate resection, but how handling the mass is the priority right now, we did not focus on discussing the resection in great detail.
This poor dog has been through so much throughout the time she has been in this world. She is such a sweet girl, she deserves so much better than the cards she has been dealt with. Rose did not ask to be abused and mistreated by her previous "owners." We would hate to give her up to someone else or surrender her to a foundation. Just like she has been fighting to survive, we are fighting alongside her to keep her alive. She never gave up and neither will we.
