Help Us Help Rick D'Amico

Tragically on Aug 24, 2022 our dear friend Rick Damico’s life was changed forever. While returning from a visit to Youngstown visiting family and friends, Rick was struck by a truck and critically injured. After spending many weeks in Intensive Care at Akron/Canton Cleveland Clinic treating the many injuries and undergoing 6 surgeries the doctors concluded Rick’s final surgery was to have his leg amputated. Rick then went through intensive rehabilitation and returned to his home in mid October. Since then, Rick has been living in a wheelchair, unable to work, drive, or do any of his routine activities that he loved so much - walking his dog Wilson, swimming, biking, hiking and more. Rick has been trying to get a prosthetic leg so that he can resume his life in as “normal” manner as possible. Throughout all of this, Rick’s attitude has been remarkably upbeat even on the darkest days. Unfortunately, the medical insurance funds are limited and Rick is in need of financial assistance. As of Today, he will, once again meet with a prosthetist and physical therapist and attempt to get a new leg… one that will allow him to walk and have some independence from the wheelchair as he adjusts to his new normal. Any help is greatly appreciated and will be put towards Rick’s recovery and ongoing treatment. We all thank you in advance for your kindness and prayers.
