Help Logan’s Family

Logan has been battling kidney disease since 2012 when he was first diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome. When he was 6 he had his first biopsy that confirmed his disease had progressed further. He was then Diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Over the years he has been brave and managed to live with this quite well. However he suddenly and unexpectedly went into acute renal failure Monday and was choppered out to Brisbane by LifeFlight Tuesday morning. He is currently in the paediatric intensive care unit of the Queensland Children’s Hospital where he has been attached to a dialysis machine since Tuesday night. Logan is bed ridden which is tough for an 11 year old. He is currently waiting to go into surgery for a permacath. He will then be attached to the dialysis machine again until Saturday morning. Once the results of the biopsy come back we will have another plan, until then we won’t know how severe his kidney damage is.

We are unsure of the length of time he will be in hospital but we know that his journey through this will be ongoing and tough on his family. His parents are unable to work while they are supporting Logan in hospital and as a result do not have an income at the moment. So we would be grateful for any support you can contribute to help Logan and his family through this tough time.
