Support Carl's Road to Recovery

As many of you know, I am Jessica, the wife of this amazing, most hardworking, most loving, most positive, God-loving man I know. He has traveled a very rough road the past 5 months. On October 8th, 2024, he picked me up from work and ended up fainting while driving, and we crashed and rolled our car. Thankfully, nobody else was involved, and neither of us got hurt. In the ER that evening, they had done a CT scan on both of us to check for injuries. While no car accident-related injuries were found on Carl, they did discover he had some other medical conditions going on. We found out he had severe cervical spinal stenosis, and his spinal cord was being severely compressed by his spinal column. They also found a ping pong ball-sized mass in his duodenum. He did not return to work. Dozens of tests and doctor appointments later, on January 31st, he got the surgery he needed to repair his neck. A week after his neck surgery, while I was at work, his blood pressure had bottomed out, and his heart rate had skyrocketed. He ended up at Mercy Hospital and found out he had a GI bleed, which was coming from the tumor in his duodenum. Fast forward 2 weeks later, yesterday, February 26th, he had to have another surgery to remove the tumor. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. After he heals from these surgeries, he will have to go to cardio rehab 3 days a week because he also has coronary artery disease. His doctor and specialists are also still trying to figure out why he passed out. His doctors think it's in Carl's best interest that he does not return to work permanently. While he has been receiving little money on short-term disability for the past 5 months, and I do work as a laundry attendant at Sunnyslope Nursing Home full-time, I have had to use up all of my PTO days to be with Carl, and his short-term disability will be running out very soon, and we don't know how long it will take to get him on permanent disability. We are just asking for a little help in the meantime. Money will be going to monthly bills and gas for the many upcoming appointments for Carl. This is not something Carl likes to do; he does not ask for help. He has always gotten everything honestly or he didn't want it because that's the man he is.
