Our home burned down

I'm Michelle, my furbabies and I have been mostly living in our motorhome for the last 4 years. I'm disabled from a workplace accident and care for 4 rescue animals. 2 dogs and 2 cats. Since my accident I've dedicated my life to advocating for animal rights and rescuing them. I've been traveling all over Alberta and BC doing just that and helping anyone I can along the way. Last year our home was stollen from the mechanic shop while visiting Edmonton. It was recovered 4 days later, but the theives had already destroyed or sold almost all of my possessions. I maxed out credit cards getting back just the basics. I haven't settled with ICBC from that incident yet. On August 4th, we were traveling back to Nelson, my home town, from a rockhounding adventure in Grand Forks. An electrical fire started in the wall while driving on the Paulsen Pass. Luckliy as I pulled over an empty ambulance was driving past me right then and pulled over as I did and let me secure my animals in their truck. That's the cover photo, us helplessly watching our house burn down from inside the abulance. Another lucky stroke is that in preparation of my motorhome possibly being a write off from the theft, my father had lent me the money to buy an older travel trailer to keep on his property permanently as a winter home. So this time we aren't homeless. Which is a great relief! After taking a good look at the electrical system in this new trailer it turns out it has major issues and needs to be completely rewired. The previous owner wired old extension cords into the breakers instead of using actual electrical wire.
We've lost nearly everything we own again, and the cc are still maxed out. I had to stop at walmart just to grab a change of clothes. Physically we're all doing just fine. But emotionally, mentally and financially we are deviatated. All 4 of my fur babies slept in bed with me last night and they cry any time I leave their presence. I'm still in shock but I think it's going to hit me like a tonne of bricks any second.
We need pet food and their medications refilled. I need clothes, all kitchen stuff, toiletries, and supplies for making art and foraged tinctures/salves, which is how I suppliment my income. I need new tools as I'm an avid diy'er when my chronic injury isn't too bad. I'll also need to retrofit whatever I get as a replacement to suit my family's lifestyle. So far ICBC is offering about 1/4 of the cost of what it would take to replace the home that we lost. They also only cover $2000 for contents. I even tried getting private insurance for more but wasn't able to.
Last year with the theft I lost about $30,000 worth of contents. This year, more like 15 or 20k as I still haven't replaced all that was lost.
I've also just found out that Iris's limp that's been getting worse over the last few months is caused by an inoperable tumor in her spine that's pressing on her sciatic nerve.
If you can't donate, please please share this for us! Thanks so much to those who can donate or share my story! Iris, Hunter, Mildred and Alobar thank you so much!
If you prefer to donate more directly the items we need, I've make an Amazon wish list, which you can purchase items and they'll be sent to me. Click the link ⬇️ to access my wish list.
