...and Jenny! Please donate to help my old roommates at 45 East 7th Street get back on their feet. Their apartment was leveled in the East Village gas explosion yesterday and they have lost everything. 45 East 7th Street is the corner building, pictured here utterly destroyed. It is the residential address for 119 2nd Ave, quoted in the media reports. I lived with Norman and Chelsea for 3 1/2 years before moving out in July, and they are like my New York family. Micha moved in in January 2014 and is a new brother too! Jenny took my place in the 4th bedroom. No amount is too small—if we all donate a little bit, I'm sure we can make a real difference to each of them. They will be re-building their lives from scratch.

Thank you SO much to everyone who has donated. I never imagined that this campaign would raise so much money so quickly to help my friends. We are all overwhelmed and inspired by the generosity of friends, acquaintances and total strangers.
We have surpassed my previous goal of $15,000. Hooray! I have created a new goal of $28,000 so that each of the four roommates will have $7,000.
