Jack’s Journey
Donation protected
Hello this is Hannah Rush. I really thank you for taking a few minutes and reading this! my dad, Jack Bond got the most unexpected and rare medical diagnosis this past December 21, 2022, what he thought might be rotator cuff problem turned out to be a spindle cell sarcoma on his shoulder. After many scans and testing out of state , due to the rarity, it was presented to a tumor board in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The boards decision was to have radiation treatments, followed by surgery and then possibly chemo. He said the radiation therapy was one of the hardest things he had ever experienced. A gifted team of highly specialized doctors performed the surgery that was successful with the tumor removed from his shoulder, and the majority of his humerus removed. After four weeks there was a set back and a second surgery was necessary to go in and do a complete clean out with some hardware removed. After a 5 day hospital stay and with a pick line installed in his left arm to continue IV antibiotics he was sent home. With him not able to use his right arm, his wife Lynn (my mom) is the main care giver as well as home health coming by weekly to follow his immediate health care needs. As many of you may know, Jack has worked self employed as a carpenter his whole life and had planned for another 10 years of work, due to these unexpected and unusual circumstances. He is now applying for Social Security disability, and will never be physically able to do the jobs as before, although he hopes one day to be able to do small projects. After not being able to work since December, and going through their savings, selling of his boat, and managing all the normal monthly bills as well as the added medical bills we are asking for any donation large or small to help ease their financial burden at this time of need. If you are willing, but not able to donate at this time please share his story. There have already been many blessings and answered prayers in this journey. Our prayers are most powerful, please include him for continued healing. • Thank you, from the Bond and Rush family
