Humanitarian Support for Ukraine

My name is Jean-Baptiste, I'm 22 years old and come from Paris (France). I've been in Ukraine for more than 2 months, helping in a refugee shelter in Lviv and making humanitarian convoys all around Ukraine.

 

The shelter where I help in Lviv already receives help for the supply of food, but this help is not enough. The shelter is constantly in need of medicine, baby products, plastic cups/cutlery, hygiene products, etc.

There are also occasional needs such as the purchase of additional mattresses and blankets or the boiler which had to be changed.

 

Because these needs are also necessary everywhere in Ukraine and especially in the East of Ukraine, I make humanitarian convoys with some other foreign and Ukrainian volunteers to bring supplies (food, medicine, etc) for all those who need it, and when possible bring as many people and animals as possible to a safe place.

We already went to Rivne, Cherkasy, Bucha, Irpin, Kharkiv, and a lot of other places all around Ukraine.

 

Until now, I have financially helped the shelter with my own money, from savings that I had accumulated over months of work and that I had originally planned to use to buy stuff for myself and go on vacation, but going on vacation wasn't an option anymore when children and families were suffering here.

Humanitarian convoys also require a certain financial cost, especially for diesel (2000km round trip to go to Kharkiv from Lviv) but also to buy most of the supplies that we bring, because the donations of supplies from abroad have drastically reduced and it becomes hard to find things for free.

The convoys that I do with humanitarian organizations are often financed directly by the organizations, but all the convoys that I do by myself with other volunteers are entirely financed by me and the other volunteers.

 

I've already used more than 3000€ of my savings but if I want to continue what I'm doing here I inevitably need to find another way to fund all this.

So that's why I created this GoFundMe, to ask you to bring your support and help me continue what I'm doing here. To join me and you too help this shelter which welcomes more than 400 refugees, women and children, every day. To help the humanitarian convoys to continue and save all these families and children who just want a chance to have a normal life, all these animals left behind, and to support all the first responders on the ground every day in the risk of their lives.

 

What I'm asking you today is not just to give, it's to participate in all this help that we bring, to choose to go from spectator to actor and to know that your donation will maybe save a child or a dog that no one else would have helped without this support.
