HUXLEY JACK BOWES passed peacefully in the loving arms of his moms on December 12, 2017.
He was born at 6:39 am on December 9, 2017 and earned his angel wings at 6:05 pm on December 12, 2017.
Huxley was the beautiful and perfect son of Alicia Bankowski and Julia Bowes. Due to unforeseen medical circumstances during his delivery, Hux sustained an acute and severe brain insult.
During his three short days on Earth he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. His life was a gift to us all that will live on in our hearts.
Hux experienced holding hands with his moms, a sponge bath, a diaper change, hugs and kisses from his family and friends, and listening to his mom's whisper "I love you" countless times.
We have a set up a GoFund Me page with all donations going to the Child Life Program at the Stollery Children's Hospital to help other families and sick kiddos cope with hospitalization.
Child life specialists at the Stollery Children’s Hospital strive to promote a positive hospital experience for children, youth, and families. A clinic appointment, medical procedure, or hospital stay can be a stressful and traumatic experience for patients and families.
Their programs help to minimize the stress and anxiety for children and their families caused by illness and hospitalization. Their staff provide pediatric patients with age-appropriate preparation for medical procedures, pain management and coping strategies, and play and self-expression activities, while also providing information, support, and guidance to parents, siblings, and other family members.
We hope that Hux’s memory will live on through the meaningful work that Child Life does each and every day.
