Survivor of domestic abuse

Hi my name is Melanie, as you may or may not know I am a survivor of domestic abuse. Domestic abuse comes in many forms. For the past few months my child’s father has been stalking/harassing me. Breaking into my house. Just making mine and my child’s life a living hell. It took awhile to go to the police, because I felt like he needed a hospital. That maybe it was a sort of psychotic break. But after this last Sunday when his failed attempt to break in while our daughter was home, all I could think was what is the ending to this story. On Monday we got a emergency protection order granted, I felt relieved, but not 48 hours later I get a text from him saying he is happily and willingly breaking the order. He even called the Jo Daviss sheriff office and told them he was on his way to my house. I watched him pick up a log, I feared he was going break in, and use the log to end the story, but he turns and shatters both my cars windshields. In a silent rage he just walks away. The police were literally a block away. He got arrested for breaking the protection order. And also felony for property damage, and the state attorney is working on the harassment/stalking charge. In the mean time I am left with over a grand in repairs to my vehicles, I missed at least 2 weeks of work during this crisis, I have to move. (Their selling the house, also I would like to relocate so when he gets out he don’t know where to find us) school is starting. I hate asking for help. I suppose a big ego. But this morning while I was vacuuming the glass, I broke down and finally admitted to myself I can’t do this alone! Anything helps.
