Billroth II Procedure

My name is Madison Kelly and I am creating this GoFundMe in order to help out my mother, Melissa Kelly, with medical expenses. She is scheduled to have a Billroth II procedure at the beginning of September at the Mayo Clinic in Florida. In other words, she is having a partial gastrectomy with a restructure of the stomach.

Since the end of May she has not been able to keep food down, so she went to the doctor here in Sumter, SC. After a series of appointments and two endoscopy’s, it was discovered that she has stomach ulcers that is blocking her stomach from her intestines. She was put on a liquid only diet for a month, but it did not help.

She decided to go to the Mayo Clinic during the 3rd week of July to get some answers and help. After multiple tests being done at the Mayo Clinic, the doctors decided it was best for her to get this surgery. She had a similar surgery on her stomach in 2009, however, it was not done properly and is now causing the complications. After insurance this past visit, she is now sitting at a $4,000 balance. Our family is trying to raise the funds to help her travel back down in September and to help pay for this upcoming surgery. All funds will go towards her medical bills.
