Ken DeForest- Cremation/Service

Donation protected
A many of you know, heaven gained another angel last night, Friday, February 17,2017 at 7:12pm ,my brother Ken DeForest received his wings.
Ken, suffered a brain aneurysm /stroke August 2014. He was living in South Carolina at the time with no family members.
With the of the Admissions Office at Riverside Healthcare and Rehabilitation in East Hartford,CT we had him transported and admitted to Riverside where he resided for the last 2 years.
Ken was admitted to St. Francis Hospital on February 6th.
He had surgery, and during surgery he aspirated vomit into his lungs.
Ken had aspirated pneumonia and was put on a ventilator then a trachea was inserted.
They tried to wean him off the ventilator, but his lungs were to weak for him to breathe on his own.
The Dr had a meeting with Ken's daughter, Krystal to let her know that Ken would have to live the rest of his life on the ventilator.
Ken, didn't want to live like that, he wanted it over.
On Friday Krystal, my brother John my brother Dennis and his wife Denise, my Mom and Step Dad, my sister Donna.
Sal and I, our cousin Lisa Chalifoux and Ken's best friend Phil "Ozzy"
all met with the Dr. He told us the same thing he had told Krystal the day before.
So since, Ken didn't want to be on life support and wanted it to be over we all decided it was time to grant him his wish.
At 4pm the ventilator was removed and the Dr expected Ken to pass no more 10 minutes of breathing on his own. Well he surprised us all and continued on for 3 hours.
He fought until the end .
Unfortunately, Ken had no life insurance . I'm hoping to be able to get some help to pay for a service for Ken.
Any amount would be greatly appreciated so we can take this burden off his daughter's shoulders.
