Support Dean's Fight Against Cancer

Those who know Dean personally know he is a man who has dedicated his life to helping others. He has enjoyed and worked tirelessly for more than a decade as a Social Worker. His roles have ranged from a therapist for teenagers and young adults, to his current role as the Director of Social Work at an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Aside from his day job, Dean is a devoted husband and father of two. He met the love of his life, Anwar, in 2012 when they were both living in Cincinnati. Since their 2018 wedding they've welcomed their son Ayhem (5) and daughter Elyanna (2). Dean and Anwar have since worked together through a number of transitions, including moving to Boston and buying plus renovating their new home.

Their most recent challenge came few weeks ago when Dean was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Thymic Cancer. After a long diagnosis process, his treatment journey finally begins this week. As a person who has endlessly and selflessly given his time to others, we want to support and give back to him. Every donation will go towards ensuring Dean receives the same world class care he's provided to his community, as he bravely fights his recent cancer diagnosis.

Although he is working at this time, it is to be expected he will need to take an extended leave from work in the near future to focus on his treatment and eventual surgery. These funds will help offset costs of lost wages and incidental payments related to his healthcare such as childcare and co-pays. They will also help his wife Anwar, who has been alongside Dean throughout his diagnosis and worked tirelessly to advocate for his care and provide support.
