Help Us Help Nigel

Hello friends and family! My name is Jana, my husband, Nigel, has been diagnosed with a rare, genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, most likely vascular……we have been referred to an Ehlers-Danlos clinic at Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida. Mayo Clinic has accepted Nigel as a patient and we are awaiting an appointment date. They have Drs there that specialize in Ehlers and connective tissue disorders. As a result of his Ehlers, he has also been diagnosed with celiac artery compression syndrome. It is another rare condition where at the bottom of his aorta artery, where it branches off into his celiac arteries, which feed the blood supply to his stomach and other organs, it keeps kinking off and cutting off his blood supply. His vascular surgeon says He needs surgery but because of his Ehlers and weakened arteries his Drs here are afraid they will not be able to repair his aorta artery during surgery. We have health insurance but as everyone knows it still will be an expense that we were not prepared to have. We are trying to raise enough money to help with travel expenses, medical expenses, and missed time off from work that will occur. It would mean the world to both of us and to his children. By Going to Mayo, we are hoping and praying they will be able to do what ever they can to help Nigel have a more comfortable and longer life to spend with his family! We appreciate our family and friends more than you all will ever know and every single amount raised will go towards Nigel’s expenses. I definitely would also like to ask for you all to please add him to your prayer lists and to please keep him in your prayers! Ehlers is a horrible disease and it is so painful to see him struggle and in pain every single day. He is a strong man and does whatever he can to keep people from knowing his daily struggles. If you know Nigel, you know he always has a smile on his face and never meets a stranger! He would give anyone the shirt off his back! He is a very special man and I would love for this journey to be as stress free for him as much as possible! Thank you all again! We know God is in control!
