Jed’s Top Surgery Fund

Hi! 

My my name is Jed Dardano and I am an 18 year old trans guy. I am hoping to get top surgery as soon as possible because my chest dysphoria is often debilitating and prohibits me from doing things that I hope to do such as playing sports, wearing clothes that I enjoy, and simply feeling comfortable in my body. This surgery will change my life for the better, and with it I will no longer have to be constantly preoccupied by the overwhelming discomfort i feel in my own body. Wearing a binder in the Arizona heat is often uncomfortable, painful, and affects my ability to breathe well.

AHCCCS will not cover my surgery, so I will have to pay for all of my surgery expenses out of pocket. The total for the surgery is $8,200 but I already have $5,000 saved. I have been raising/saving money consistently for over three years. I work three jobs and try to save as much as I can, but I have to pay for rent, car expenses, medical bills, and other life situations.

I am planning to get my surgery done by Dr. Ethan Larson here in Tucson. I have already had two consultations with him and am confident in his abilities to give me the result I want. This procedure is life changing for me and I know that I will finally feel free and connected to my body once I have the opportunity to have it done.
