Carl's Road To Recovery

Hello, my name is Victoria Lang and I am fundraising for my dad, Carl Lang. While checking cows Sunday, April 6th, Dad found himself in the wrong place at the right time and was charged by a Cow who had just freshly calved. Dad being the strong man that he is, endured serious injuries that left him unable to move.

As of now, we know he has a fractured scapula, fractured hip, dislocated hip which will need a traction pin and then a secondary surgery adding a steel plate to relocate the hip. He also has a fractured pelvis, 6 fractured ribs on each side and a fractured T8 vertebrae transverse process. Dad is very lucky to be alive and we are praying for a smooth and easy recovery for him.

It is estimated that he will need at least 3 months for his ribs to recover, at least 6 weeks before his leg can bear any weight and it is estimated that it will be up to 18 months until he is fully healed.

He will remain in Regina for a couple of weeks before he is moved closer to home to support his recovery. As many know, Dad is a passionate family and community orientated man who has worn many hats including farmer, patch worker and volunteering with the Carnduff Lions Club for many years. Dad is in need of many prayers as he continues on his path to a full recovery. This fundraiser was requested by the community as a way to show support through this tough time. My mother Lynette remains by his side through it all and we would like to thank everyone for their phone calls and offerings as we navigate this difficult time.
