More than 8 million people in Sudan are in need of general medical supplies. Help the Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) provide people in Sudan with emergency relief during this time of uncertainty, economic turmoil, and COVID-19. We are raising 10K to help SAMA cover custom fees of $36,000 for a 6-ton container of medical supplies to be shipped from Illinois to Sudan.
100% of all proceeds goes towards the shipment of their fifth 40-foot container on March 4, 2021 (date updated).

What is the situation?
-More than 8 million people in Sudan are in need of general medical supplies.
-Over 17,000 reported cases of COVID-19, and numbers are increasing.
-Over 125,000 have been displaced due to the historic floods this year, with an increase in waterborne diseases such as malaria and Cholera due to the recent floods.
What is SAMA's role?
SAMA is one of the leading U.S. organizations that actively provide high quality medical supplies to public hospitals and medical centers in Sudan. SAMA will administer the distribution of medical supplies supported by your gift to local hospitals in coordination with local physicians, volunteers, and its SAMA Sudan office staff.
How does SAMA identify need?
-Local Sudanese physicians supply SAMA-USA with a “wish list” of medical supplies
-SAMA fundraises and purchases medical supplies and equipments
-SAMA then supplies and ships a 40-foot freight container from USA (Virginia) to Sudan
-SAMA-Sudan Office receives the container and distributes medical supplies to public hospitals and medical centers.

- Isra El-beshir, Ilham Ahmed, and Hussam El Tayeb are Sudanese by way of USA and Germany, and members of the Sudanese Peace Music Festival , a startup organization with a vision of empowering Sudanese artists, musicians, and creatives by providing them with a collaborative platform that showcases their, art both at home and abroad.
-SAMA is a registered, non-profit humanitarian organization committed to promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of the Sudanese community by delivering superb, sustainable and measurable medical services, education, training, and capacity building.
