Help Megan Beat Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi all! My name is Sarah and I am raising funds for my very good friend Megan to help alleviate the financial and emotional strain of a daunting cancer diagnosis.
For those who don’t know her already, Megan is a social worker who has dedicated her career to helping folks coping with addiction and housing insecurity. She is a beloved member of her community who teaches yoga and volunteers her spare time to a local committee that supports affordable housing. She is a caring friend with a sharp sense of humor and she is loved by so many.
Megan’s life was drastically changed when she was diagnosed with an aggressive, inoperable and cancerous brain stem tumor in early November of 2024. This specific cancer is very rare, and typically affects children primarily. While doctors are currently saying it is incurable, Megan is in her 30s and very determined to access all treatment options available to her.
Megan is in the process of determining eligibility for a very promising clinical trial in California which, if approved, would require her to spend time across the country away from friends and family. We are so hopeful she will get into the trial, and any funds will help with flights back and forth, living for an extended period across the country, and medical care that won't be covered by her insurance due to being out of state. Funds will also go towards her treatments here in Massachusetts that insurance will not cover.
Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for any contribution you can make to Megan as she bravely faces the road ahead. Any funds raised for Megan will help alleviate emotional and financial stress so she can focus wholly on her health and spending time with loved ones.
