Zander needs your support

Bright colors and silly noises and one very special sock monkey, doesn't seem like a lot for some of us, but for Zander, it's the funniest and greatest thing.

Zander is a very simple little boy who doesn't require much to make him happy. If you ever get a chance to meet him, you walk away with a smile, a little piece of joy knowing that he's just about the happiest little boy in the world.

Zander and his twin sister are special needs children that both suffer with Cerebral Palsy and other conditions that prohibit them from doing a lot of normal activities that most kiddos are able to.

Just to give you a quick background on Zander, he was born a twin at 25 weeks. Zander weighed 2.5 pounds at birth. From that day on he spent the majority of his time in his second home, Phoenix Children’s Hospital.  He's had around 20+ surgeries ranging from brain surgery to help slow the pressure on his brain to a tracheotomy to a g-tube in his belly to help him eat. More recently he's had a complete hip replacement and a brand new cast for a broken leg.

Despite all of that, there's a smile. That's the one thing you learn and discover about this little guy from the first day you meet him. Despite the pain and all the troubles, he never fails to produce a smile and laugh. That's just who he is and every person that every meets him realizes it right away. Zander loves to laugh and loves to make other people laugh and smile. He loves to be tickled and if you can make a Bevis and Butthead sound you will watch him unload a laugh after laugh that will bring a smile on your face. It's so hard to understand how a little boy can go through so much pain and trials on his little body,  can find a smile through it all but he does.

We're looking for a wheel chair accessible van that will help us transport him back and forth to his weekly appointments. There is a wonderful company locally here that has a variety of different vans that will accommodate his wheel chair and allow us to be able to move him to and from at ease.
Right now the way we are getting him to and from is untraditional and difficult. Unfortunately dad is suffering from back issues and cannot lift him due to arthritis and many surgeries himself on his back, so it's impossible for dad to be able to help in this part so the burden is all on mom and with Zander getting older and much heavier it's very difficult on her as well. The van we have does not allow for his wheel chair to fit in it without completely disassembling it into pieces which takes a long time to do. Ideally he should remain and transport in the chair but we can do that so there is a huge need to get a specialized van in order to help transport him everywhere he needs to go.

We know there are people out there that help with these needs and request and are hoping this message reaches you. Zander is such a wonderful little boy and would benefit so much from being able to, at ease, be transported anywhere he needs to go.

We would love to let you meet him if you ever need a smile on your face or would be happy to send you more information about him and pictures should you want to sponsor him. Just know, through all his sufferings, he still makes a difference in this world even if it's to just bring a smile on one persons face. With so many horrible things going on today, a smile is priceless and worth everything you could have.
