Help a Family Affected by Leukemia

Donation protected
My name is Ashley and as of this moment I am sitting in the OSU Cancer Treatment and Research building next to my husband who, on Thursday March 26th, 2015 was diagnosed with Leukemia. As I type this he is sound asleep with tubes all over him and well over 20 different medications and poisons pumping through his system, killing his immune system and - hopefully - the cancer with it. Eric has always been a strong, independent, forward-thinking person that has put me and our two children before himself since the day we met. He swears like a sailor, and will always give you his opinion, even if it's negative and you didn't want to hear it! But he is also incredibly loving and kind, and has always gone out of his way to help others, even complete strangers. Our children are amazing, and Eric has always been firm but loving with them, teaching them to be the best people they can be, and to navigate the world and people around them with patience and understanding. When we first found out I was pregnant with our oldest, he told me he wanted me to be a stay-at-home mom to care for our daughter and keep her from growing up in daycares and similar places. And so he found a job at Honda and has worked tirelessly, without complaint, for the last ten years at a job that is incredibly physical, only ever asking me to work when finances grew too tight, and then only asking me to work part-time. We've scrapped by on his sole income for a long time, and have struggled often, and because of it barely being enough to get by, we have never been able to build up a savings or anything worth speaking about for emergencies. This is why I've created this gofundme. Eric's type of Leukemia (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, or APL) requires that he stay in the hospital for at least the next 30 days to recieve daily treatments with Arsenic and extremely high doses of vitamin A. He cannot work, and will not be able to return to work for a long while. I am in the process of trying to get in to Honda as a temp, but they have a rigorous physical capabilities test that I failed in March and can't retake until mid April. Eric is eligible for disability, but - as I'm sure most of you know - it will only pay a percentage of his normal wages. There will also be medical bills that I can't even fathom or think about right now added on to our normal mortgage, utility, electric, car payments, gas, and many other bills that we simply will not be able to pay with Eric out of work. So I ask you, if you know Eric, or know me, or know our family at all... or if you are a complete stranger and want to help a family in need, please donate. Anything and everything helps. And in this case, it will not only help us get by, but it will help lift my husband's spirits and ease a lot of the worry and stress he's going through while he's fighting this. If you donate, my promise to you is that every penny earned from this will go toward our mortgage, bills, food, and medical expenses; and once my husband has made it through and can return to work, we will pay it forward by donating any extra money from this, or from our own incomes to cancer research.
