Help For My Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Julie & I am here on behalf of my Niece Lauren, Nephew Steven, niece Sky & nephew Odin. A little backstory, Steven & Lauren met in Lexington, SC over 12yrs ago. After a year of dating, Steven proposed in the privacy of their shared apartment with no witnesses. Lauren's mom (my sister) took a year to plan their wedding. It was an intimate setting in her parents backyard with close friends & relatives & I was able to officiate their wedding. This November they will celebrate their 10yr wedding anniversary. A year and a half after they said "I Do", they welcomed baby Sky to the family. Nearly 8yrs later they welcomed Baby Odin. They now live in GA with their 2 kids & 4 dogs. Steven works very hard for his family & Lauren is a stay at home mom. Until recently, she decided to start working for a food delivery company to help bring money to the household. However, due to Steven's long hours & the price of childcare, she took the kids with her on her deliveries. Over the weekend my Niece was involved in a car accident that totalled her car while her & her kids (8yr old Sky & 2yr old Odin) were in it. A van t-boned their car at speeds of 35 to 40mph. directly into Laurens door. She was working deliveries at the time. Due to her working, her insurance will not cover her cars damages. They are now out of a job & out of a car with no help from insurance bc she wasn't aware her coverage needed to be changed in order to work & be covered. Steven works extremely hard, extremely long & difficult hours for his family, so getting Skyler to & from school, gymnastics, doctors appointments, basic errands, such as grocery shopping, has now become extremely difficult as their only mode of transportation is Steven's work truck. She is not permitted to drive the truck. We are so happy their family is OK & did not suffer worse injury than whiplash, bruised ribs and overall soreness. But now the hard part begins; getting back to their life. It's going to be a long and rough road with many struggles financially as well as just their daily routine. I am hoping that setting up a GoFundMe can, at the very least, start to help get them back on their feet and headed in the right direction. We do not want anyone to feel obligated to donate anything, especially during this difficult time of inflation as we are all aware everyone is struggling right now. If you are in a position to help, we cannot begin to explain how grateful they will be to their community.
