Asking for help is probably one of the most difficult things I have ever done but I have been encouraged by several close friends to do so. Here is my delimma, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer about a month ago. I did not want a lot of attention on social media so I told a very small group of friends. I was told I needed surgery and would need to pay my $10,000 surgery deductable up front. Eddy and I took out a loan to be able to pay it so I could go ahead and have the surgery. It has been a horribly difficult year financially but some how we have scraped by and managed.
Yesterday I went in for what was suppose to be a quick day surgery to remove my cervix. When the doctor started the proceedure she found a large erroding mass and was unable to complete the surgery. She did not have all the proper equiptment for the proceedure and she did not have enough assistiance. She closed the incision and sent me home with 2 referrals, one to a gyno-oncology specialist and one to a bowel surgeon. (The mass appears to have invaded my bowel as well) I am having to take off work without pay, as I am an at will, part time employee with no benifits, no vacation and no sick days. This in itself , creates a financial burden, as we are barely scraping by right now.
Surgery will be rescheduled after meeting with the 2 new doctors and medical costs continue to mount. Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Every $5 helps!
I am so greatful to have the best friends ever and a huge moral support team! The wonderful ladies at Covenant hills where I work have generously offered to bring meals to my home during this time and the outpouring of support on Facebook has been overwhelming. Thanks to each and every one of you for your love and support . If friends were money I would be on the Forbes richest women list!
