Help Steve Matt fight ALS!
Donation protected
As many of you already know, Steve Matt was officially diagnosed with ALS in January 2016. ALS is a progressive neuromuscular disease that attacks the neurons that control muscles, including the ones used to speak, swallow and breathe. Steve's father Robert lost his own battle to ALS in 1981, when Steve was just a little boy.
Though the diagnosis is grave, and there is no known cure for ALS, there have been advances since then and there are many ways we can improve the quality of life for the diagnosed.
This fund had been initially established to finance a Palatal Lift device that helps Steve to swallow and speak. This device is in its final fittings and has been of immense help to him. However Steve faces new challenges daily and mounting medical expense as well. By advancing this campaign we hope to continue to find solutions that improve his quality of living with ALS in addition to pursuing genetic testing and clinical trials that may make an actual difference both presently and going forward in the treatment of this devastating disease.
