In loving memory of our mum - Mei Hsiao

Our beloved mother and wife to our dad had a long fight against liver cancer. She survived a 9cm tumor in 1998 and 3 other recurrences treated by TACE over the last 5 years. She finally passed on the 7th of March, 2020 due to complications with her liver transplant.

One of her wishes was to support cancer research, therefore we would like to honour her memory by raising money for research in the fight against liver cancer and further transplant survival. 

We hope to give something back to all those who have worked in Australia’s amazing healthcare system, particularly the nurses, clinicians and surgeons who worked tirelessly to look after our mother over the course of her long fight with liver cancer.

Importantly in the name of our mother, we wish to contribute something practical and helpful to those who currently suffer a well as those who may suffer this illness. We wish this to be a contribution to medical science that our family will be able to continue to support going forward.

We wish that as an alternative to sending flowers to the memorial service that you can make a small contribution that will go directly to aid cancer research at the AW Morrow Gastroenterology & Liver Services where they have an active research program in the laboratory and in the clinic into liver disease, liver transplantation, and liver cancer. The research program is  searching for new treatments and diagnostic monitoring
