Help for the Less Fortunate

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Assalamu Alaikum (peace be upon you),

I am going back home to Kurdistan on May 9th for a month and for as long as I can remember, going back home to Kurdistan was always my favourite; being able to absorb my roots, see the areas where my parents grew up in, experiencing the vibrant culture and traditions, and indulging in the delicious food. But one memory that always stuck with me is seeing the large amount of people who need financial help. All I can remember as a kid was asking myself “why? Why was I so fortunate to be able to be born in Canada where my needs were fulfilled, where I had healthcare, parents I can depend on, food, a roof over my head? Why were others not so fortunate?” I can remember a group of children, most likely siblings, walking around bare foot begging for their next meal, their next sip of water. It broke my heart as a kid to see that, to see the poverty, humbled me in fact and gave me the motivation to make it my goal to help those in need for as long as I can. Not only in Kurdistan but hopefully (inshallah) around the world as well.

Again, I am going back to Kurdistan on May 09th and my goal is to raise as much money as I can for the people most in need. I have already been donating as much as I can for as long as I can remember. But now I need help trying to help even MORE people! I was originally trying to raise $1500 which will roughly help about 33 families in need with essentials like water, food, rent, etc. but thanks to so many donations I doubled the goal to $3000! Hopefully we can get more donations, so I can reach out to even more people with your help.

These families include widowed women who lost their husbands in the battle for freedom against ISIS who cannot provide for their sick, young children. Families with parents that have health issues who cannot work making it hard for them to provide even a slice of bread for their children or aren’t able to afford good health care like medication for themselves and their kids. I am also trying to help orphans who are staying with relatives who cannot make ends meet due to the circumstances.

The ones in need will forever be grateful for your help, joyful in fact that they will be able to get that extra initiative, that extra help they need. My goal will always be to help the less fortunate, anywhere in the world, because that smile I see after all the adversity they’ve been through is worth more than the world I’m trying to make better.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated no matter the amount. I hope we can help even more people in this journey!
