John is a wonderful and clever man who has a simplehearted spirit. He truly enjoys being a father even when our little snugglebugs are tearing up the house, most of the time hes involved in the mess making with the boys . hes always willing to help those who need it with no hesitation. No matter if its giving someone a place to stay to putting up xmas lights. his only payment is to see those he cares about with a smile on their face. John is my husband but more so my best friend. The best anyone could ever have. And the mere thought of almost losing him makes me choke up. This is his story...
On May 10th 2021 john was rushed to the E.R. for an intense abdominal pain. (Mind you he had been back and fourth from the doctors and had been suffering with this pain for 2 years.) The E.R. dr rushed to get him a CT scan and low and behold there was a ruptured polyp the size of a grapefruit on his intestine. This almost caused sepsis as some of the fluid was leaking into his body... He almost didnt make it. This rupture was caused by an undiagnosed diverticulosis. Previous doctors thought the pain was caused by "constipation". Boy were they wrong. And to our surprise, as we were in the hospital we received a call from his drs. Office informing us that he might have diverticulosis... Are you thinking"this has to be a joke?" Well let me tell you this is no joke. At that moment we relayed the information letting them know the polyp ruptured. So from there because he did not have the "right insurance" to get medical attention at the hospital we were at, they had to transfer him over to another hospital. There they drained the polyp(500ml) and added a jp drain. Well, it didnt end there 2 days later fecal matter was coming out of the drain. They rushed him into surgery and came out with a colostomy. Throughout his time with the colostomy was a pain for him. From insurance not sending the proper gear and paying out of pocket for ostomy supplies that should have been covered, to sores around his stoma and a hernia(which is very painful).
John was excited but nervous about his reversal surgery on Nov. 8. Everything seemed fine until about 2 days later he broke out in fever. I hoped it would pass and wasnt an infection. But turns out it was and his surgery didnt take. Nurses helped bring down the fever, dr said jp drain looked fine until the 8th day fecal matter was pouring in the drain. Again. So Nov. 16th was his most recent surgery to receive an ileostomy to fix the issue. Johns body might feel exhausted but he remains high spirited.
Friends and i are trying to raise money for Johns medical expenses that cannot be covered by his insurance. So please if i may ask of you a small donation it would truly help out. And if you can not donate please send your loving light and prayers for his health and for the strength of our family. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read his brief story. Have a blessed day
