Jack Sawyer's Medical Expenses

This is my nephew, Jack. He's an incredible 16-year-old who is such a bright light to so many. He's smart, funny, caring, witty and takes every opportunity to bring laughter to every situation. Jack was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, on April 12, 2022. Over the last year, Jack has endured chemo, radiation, doctor’s appointments, medical tests, and procedures to a degree many will never know all while showing courage and strength not typical for many adults much less a kid his age. On January 20th Jack received the news he was cancer-free and everyone celebrated the amazing news. Unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived as Jack and his parents, Dawn and Matt, were informed the cancer was back just 3 months later. After additional tests, they received word that not only had the cancer returned but it had metastasized.

As many of you may know, Dawn was forced to quit her job over a year ago to take Jack to the many appointments and treatments and to tend to his needs while recovering in the hospital and at home. For the short time Jack was in remission, Dawn was able to return to work but has now had to quit her job once again as Jack braves chemo, radiation, and pelvic removal and reconstruction surgery in the coming months. While insurance covers a significant portion of these treatments, there is a great deal that is not covered. If you would like to assist with their financial burden, any amount you’re willing to contribute will go directly to Jack’s medical expenses.
