End-Stage Liver Disease Transplant Help: Cynthia

Hi, my name is Melchor (Choy). I am trying to keep it together. Right now it’s been hard. For those that know us, my wife of almost 20 years, Cynthia has been battling with an end-stage non-alcoholic fatty cirrhosis of the liver. Our medical bills have been mounting daily. The numerous trips to San Antonio, Texas to receive treatment and medical attention alone is a great expense.

Cynthia is currently receiving medical treatment at Methodist Specialty Transplant Hospital. We are currently waiting to get on a waiting list for her to receive a liver transplant.

She is stage 4 and her only choice is to get a liver transplant. As the sole provider for a family of 5 things have grown increasingly harder for me. I’ve had to take some time off of work every time we make the trip to San Antonio from El Paso. Soon Cynthia’s doctor is scheduled to change to Phoenix Arizona where she will be in long term care.

Right now the expenses I am asking for help with are the regular medical visits, travel and her medication.

We still don’t know what other expenses we will incur as her disease progresses.
