Brian’s Eagle Project

Hi, my name is Brian Reed. I am working towards my Eagle Scout Rank. For my Eagle Project, I am working with Open My World, a therapeutic riding service supporting Leander and surrounding areas. What is Therapeutic Riding? It is an innovative approach that enables many individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities to gain life skills and achieve goals that have not been attainable through traditional therapeutic modalities. My Eagle Project will consist of installing a 6 ft wide, 3 in deep mulch trail spanning 800 feet in circumference. The mulch trail will help the horses, riders, and volunteers by keeping the horses focused on their task and not munching on the grasses or otherwise causing instability for the rider. The trail will also help the volunteers so they have a path to follow and less issues with bugs and possibly snakes.

Your donation will help fund mulch, equipment, and meals for volunteers. Any unused funds will go back to Open My World to help keep this important non-profit continue their great services.
