On Sunday, December 15, my roommate John rushed our cat Oliver into the ER after he had lost all his energy and was unable to stand up anymore. Upon being admitted, the vet determined he was suffering from a urinary tract blockage, and the levels of creatinine and potassium in his blood were so high that we would've lost him if we'd waited any longer. Oliver is only 2 year and a few months old, with no prior health issues, so this was such an unexpected emergency to witness. The vet said that after inserting a catheter and administrating medication, they'd need to hold him for 2 days to ensure his toxin levels return to normal — as of right now, he's still in the hospital, but he's recovering well and should be released on the 17th, instead of the full 3 days they had estimated! However, the cost of saving his life and keeping him under full time care was a staggering $8869.45. Anything above this amount (if that actually happens!) will go toward the lifetime of medicated food and additional prescriptions I'll have to buy to manage his condition. If our lil Oliver has ever touched your heart (or we have), it would mean so much to receive your help. Thank you from us and Olly, and so much love x
