Fight of Her Life

On March 20, 2018, Tanya went to a doctor appointment to undergo a routine outpatient procedure that required just a local anesthesia. Everything was going well until Tanya suddenly went unconscious and had to be resuscitated. She was then immediately taken to the hospital. Two days later, after being poked and prodded by a slew of doctors, Tanya's life was forever changed when she heard the words, “You have cancer.” No one is ever prepared to hear those words, but to then be told that it was stage four pancreatic cancer with metastasis to the liver and lungs, we were all in shock! After many moments of tears, anger, sadness, fear, and a lot of prayer, Tanya, along with her family, loved ones and friends, committed to fighting this awful disease with everything in our being. Unfortunately, her battle became more difficult and more serious when in January 2020, as she was preparing to celebrate her 50th birthday, her kidney transplant rejected causing her to suffer kidney failure for a third time. She is currently undergoing daily chemotherapy treatment and dialysis treatment three times a week for 3.5 hours each treatment.
Through it all, Tanya - our daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend and teacher - does not complain or question why she was chosen for this battle. She really makes it look easy when we know it isn’t. She sees everyday as a blessing and takes each new challenge head on. She inspires and motivates us to do the same. Tanya is in the fight of her life, but we are here to support her and let her know that in this family, no one fights alone. We have setup a GoFundMe page to help with medical bills, travel expenses and anything else that might be needed to help Tanya during her battle. We appreciate all of the love and support shown to her and our family and we ask that you keep those prayers and good vibes coming! We BELIEVE that Tanya will get her MIRACLE!
