US$ Tax Receipt-Save Our Historic Building in PR
Trinity Community Lutheran Church congregation was established in 1913 by the Icelandic pioneers of Point Roberts and the original services were in Icelandic. The church building was finished in 1920 and has faithfully served the community ever since.
The 100-year-old historic sanctuary is now deemed to be unsafe for use. Our mission is to restore the structural soundness of the sanctuary so that it can continue to be used as a church and community resource. The condition is worsening, making it necessary to move as quickly as possible to initiate the phase 1 repair work.
The Structural Engineer with whom we have consulted believes that the sanctuary needs to be stabilized within the next year and additional foundational work will need to be carried out after that. He has completed work plans and is ready to start the work. The total anticipated cost is $200,000, with the first phase requiring $100,000 US.
Looking Toward the Future
Please join us as we recreate who and what will we be in the next 100 years. The mystery develops weekly as we come out of CoVid and its isolation. We hope to grow ourselves by knowing and serving more of our community.
