Scholarships for Cultural Immersion, Service Trip
Donation protected
Help a Lincoln Middle School student participate in this Cultural Immersion and Service-Learning trip of a lifetime! These students head to Costa Rica where they learn first hand about the culture, ecosystem, and needs of the community. Along with various service projects throughout the trip, the students also participate in a variety of nature hikes to understand the ecosystems and their role in the world, as well as tours of local crop plantations to learn more about the local economy.
All the activities, lodging, meals, transportation businesses that they group utilizes when in Costa Rica are small and locally owned, thus giving back even more to the communities they visit through ecotourism.
When students return to their classroom they make presentations for future participants, host a community event, and discuss what efforts they can take locally to impact or carry on the message they have learned all about in Costa Rica.
Unfortunately, the cost of the trip is something that puts it out of reach for many of Lincoln's students. The purpose of these scholarships is to provide an equal opportunity for all of Lincoln's students to access this amazing learning and service adventure. Your donation will make a difference in the life of a young learner and could ignite a flame within an individual or group that might not have seen this opportunity otherwise.
Pura Vida!
