Qianna Moncur's Education Fund
Donation protected
As a young Bahamian girl, I never expected to make it as far as I am now. A college education and being able to experience life in the U.S. felt extremely out of my reach. Nevertheless, I always hoped to be more than what I went through, and I was. I am Qianna Moncur. In 2019, I was awarded the Public School Scholarship to attend a University of my choice, I chose to attend the illustrious Central State University to take up Computer Science. In 2021, I realized that I would like to change my major to Industrial Technology. Changing my major extended my college journey from 4 years to 5. It took me quite some time to realize that everyone is different, and I am no less of a person for not graduating in 4 years. I applied to extend my scholarship in 2022, to ensure that my tuition for my 5th and final year would be covered. However, the extension was denied. Unfortunately, I did not receive this update until January 2024 after I inquired. As far as I was concerned the funds were covered until Financial Aid at my school notified me that they had not received any funds. Had I known about the denial of my scholarship extension earlier, I would have made provisions by now to have this covered. Regardless, I have been extremely blessed to have made it this far in my journey while having my tuition fully covered and I am very grateful to have been a 2019 Public School Scholar! It is now January 7, 2024, and my expected graduation is May 11, 2024; I am currently in my last semester and as of right now, I have maintained a 3.41 CGPA. Without the funds to cover this last year of tuition, I will be unable to participate in my graduation, and unable to receive my degree. Any donations made or sharing done to help me with this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
