Mental Wellness

Hi, My name is Nancie Rooney. I am a makeup artist living in Los Angeles. I am a proud member of our Local 706 Union and part of the Entertainment industry. While the WGA and SAG/AFTRA are on strike, the industry has shut down leaving thousands without work. Because the usual work full-time or even part-time within my industry is unavailable at this time, with no end in sight, I am unable to include Mental Wellness in my budget. I am so fortunate to have some work coming in to cover my living expenses, there just is not enough to cover the cost of my weekly therapy sessions. Since April 2023, I have worked weekly with my therapist to uncover and heal years upon years of trauma. Getting to the core of this trauma takes time as does the healing that goes with it. In these past few months, together with my therapist, I have discovered the root time/place of my trauma. Each session builds upon the last to create a space mentally, emotionally and physically to heal. My goal is to raise enough funds for 5 months of therapy sessions. Weekly 1 hour sessions are $250 which brings my fund goal to $6000 (this amount includes fees as well).
