Jerry Stomski, former First Selectman of Woodbury, CT, was critically injured in a garage explosion at his home in Hampstead, NC on Friday, March 27th, 2015. He suffers with significant burns and damage to his lungs. Jerry is at University of North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill, NC. As Chapel Hill is a two & a half hour drive from their home in Hampstead, his wife Joan has been staying in Chapel Hill near the hospital. His four children have travelled from all over the country to support their Mom and be close to their Dad during this difficult time.
There has been an outpouring of support in Jerry's former hometown of Woodbury, CT for which the Stomski family is overwhelmed and grateful. Many people have expressed an interest in wanting to help. We would like to ease some of their financial burden. Aside from the staggering medical expenses, the family is incurring alternate living expenses in Chapel Hill. As it is expected that Jerry will remain at Jaycee Burn Center for several months, they will be subjected to many additional costs that were obviously unanticipated.
Please pray for Jerry, his wife Joan and their children Sarah, Andrea, Drew and Hannah. The Stomskis are an exceptional family who have always given back to their community, their neighbors and their friends. Now it's our turn....
