UPDATE ON JACK…
Update on Jack, he has been moved out of ICU into a normal room. The doctor’s main goals for him right now is regaining his strength on his left side and relearning how to walk. Which is going to take months of physical therapy and he may not regain full function, it’s too early to tell. The main concern is that when turning his head to the left Jack is left feeling extremely dizzy, to the point of throwing up (think constant vertigo). This is very crucial because Jack is an excavator & therefore will be out of work until he is fully recovered. They will be putting Jack on a special monitor for a few weeks to make sure there is no blood clots present and that he doesn’t experience any abdominal heart problems.
Jack and I definitely appreciate all the kind words, prayers, & well wishes. Reading all the messages to Jack has really helped lighten the situation, even if only for a moment.
Everyone’s donations have been extremely generous. And we are so grateful that everyone is willing to give during these hard times and continue to help our family. Moving to Redding has left us not as surrounded with family and friends as we once were. So this has been even more difficult to navigate.
On the morning of June 06th Jack suffered a Ischemic Stroke and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Jack spent yesterday & today in the ICU going through test after test. Sometime today he will be transferred to his own room for further monitoring and testing. At this time Jack has slurred speech, tingling/numbness, dizziness, & loss of strength on his left side. Jack is being seen regularly by a neurologist and physical therapist. The total extent of what the stroke has done is not yet something they can give a definitive answer about.
If you know Jack, you know that he is the biggest teddy bear with the most unconditional love to give. With the unseen amount of time off Jack will have to take it is a devastating blow to our finances. Jack has been the “bread winner” of our family. Without his income support and myself missing work to be there for him, we are in no other words doomed. We are in a crisis & looking towards our family & friends for any support that they maybe able to offer. We have worked so hard to buy our house, loosing it is something we are just not ready for. Please considering donating if you can (also to my Venmo) , sharing it if you will & praying for us if you believe.
