Bernie’s Journey

Donation protected
Mum, Bernie Curley, suffered a severe aneurysm & stroke last August but thanks to the amazing help of all her different medical teams over the past 8 months she is still with us to tell the tale.

Mum has spent 6 weeks in Beaumont ICU, 2 months in UCHG Stroke Unit, 3 months in Merlin Rehab Unit, and continues her journey in the National Rehabilitation Unit Dun Laoighre.

We have watched as mum has achieved goal after goal on this journey and after watching her walk for the first time in January I decided to set the goal of running the CONNEMARATHON Full Marathon - if she could achieve that I know I can achieve this.

So I would like to ask you to help me to support our amazing teams in Galway that do so much to help with so many patients recovery. I would like to split the funds raised between UCHG Stroke Unit and Merlin Rehabilitation Unit. These teams of amazing medical practitioners have helped my mum achieve so much in such a little space of time and I would help them to achieve this many other people’s healing journeys.
