Greg has asked me to help document this story, these are his words, i can simply type faster :), we thank you for taking the time to listen.
Greg & Maria have owned Complete Taxi since 1995, they started with an investment in 4 taxis and have grown the business to 108 taxi's and employ over 400 people. Greg started driving in 1982, leased his first license in 1986 and worked his guts out to take the plunge & bring to life Complete Taxi, he is a QLD success story. Today the business contributes hundred's of thousand of dollars to the economy & has been a proud supporter of PCYC, Guide Dogs & RSPCA for many years.
Unfortunately we live in uncertain times which impacts on business & community confidence.
The value of Greg's business is largely dependent on the perceived value of his taxi licenses, today with over 65% reduction in taxi value since the introduction of Rideshare Greg & Maria are now facing a situation where they will not be able to meet their financial commitments in the near future & will begin to sell down the business. This will mean that 400 largely Brisbane families will begin to lose their incomes & livelihoods. If Greg's business can fail, & Complete are a fantastic QLD success story, how many more owners are facing the same stark reality that he is facing.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to read this brief note, please also watch the video & if you can donate generously.
We can't let political weakness & poor decision making continue to erode the QLD way of life. We as a community need to support our Small Businesses no matter what the industry, whether it be Dairy, Taxi, Sugar Cane, Fishing, Agriculture & Livestock, these people are the foundations of our economy & now is the time to band together.
Thank you for your time
