Help Luke McManus make a short musical film on O'Connell St

Help Luke McManus, director of North Circular and The Locals, create a new musical short film on Dublin's O'Connell Street.
The film, with a working title of Street Corner Messiahs & Moral Pariahs, will be filmed in Dublin in April 2025 over Easter Weekend at the GPO, the site of the Easter Rising.
Luke is working on the project on a voluntary basis, as is the cinematographer Alex Sapienza, who will be Luke's main visual collaborator on the project. We've collaborated many times, including on the IFTA winning I Am Immigrant and the acclaimed short documentary Dublin Easter 2020.
We are shooting on Saturday and Sunday night in the very heart of Dublin, 109 Easter Sundays after the Rising. Our story and Varo's beautiful music will combine against a colour-saturated tapestry of the most densly populated and diverse urban fabric in Ireland, captured in widescreen and shot on anamorphic lenses for a cinematic, almost halluncinatory feel. A mixture of Pickpocket, Enter The Void & Heat. On a microbudget. Sure what can possibly go wrong?
We have some exciting front of camera talent to be announced and we are also collaborating with the musicians Consuelo Nerea Breschi and Lucie Azconaga of Varo on the music.
Many of us are working for nothing, but we want to be able to feed our cast and crew generously and also offer modest but respectable wages to the emerging talents and young technicians and cast who will be helping us on the way.
It's a challenging and ambitious project in a fascinating but unpredictable location. We need our heads examined. But we also need a bit of help from you.
The cost of the shoot is around 3,500 euros and we would love it if you could make a contribution to the film.
